How do Google Ads Promotion Extensions Work? (Single Property Ad Account Vs. Multiple Property Ad Account)

Flair automatically creates and manages Google Ads Promotion Extensions for your properties based on the specials you schedule in the platform. Here's how it works, depending on your Google Ads account structure:

๐Ÿ”น Single-Property Ad Account

If your Google Ads account only advertises one property, here's what happens when you create a special in Flair:

  1. Promotion Extension Created at Account Level:

    • When you add a special in the Flair UI at app.getflair.io, Flair automatically creates a Google Ads promotion extension at the account level.

  2. Applies to All Campaigns:

    • This promotion will be attached to all campaigns within the account.

  3. Automatic Scheduling:

    • The promotion will run until the end date you selected, and Flair will automatically remove it when the special expires.

๐Ÿ”น Multi-Property Ad Account

If your Google Ads account advertises multiple properties, Flair takes a more targeted approach:

  1. Promotion Extension Created per Property:

    • A promotion extension is created for each property that has a special scheduled.

  2. Applied Based on Campaign Name:

    • The promotion will only be applied to campaigns where the campaign name contains the property name.

    • Example: If the property is โ€œOak Place,โ€ and the campaign name is โ€œRSA | Oak Place,โ€ Flair will attach the promotion extension to that campaign only.
