Flair integrates your property website with Google Business Profile (GBP) so that your floorplan pricing stays up to date automatically. This guide explains:
Who is responsible for creating and managing product cards
What Flair updates automatically vs. what you control
Best practices for setup and maintenance
1. Setup & Ownership
Who creates product cards?
Usually properties create them manually. Flair prefers not to create them because clients often have specific requirements for naming, categories, images, and URLs.
Flair can create them for you if you provide detailed instructions, including:
Product naming convention (e.g., Floorplan Name + Bedroom Type)
Categories to use
Product description text
Landing page URL with UTM parameters
Which image to use
⚠️ Important: Flair does not automatically create or delete product cards. Cards must be created manually in GBP first, then synced to Flair’s database so that pricing can update.
When does responsibility shift?
Once we confirm that all floorplans are correctly set up in GBP (each website floorplan has a matching GBP product card), Flair takes over price syncing and availability updates.
2. New Floorplans
When a new floorplan is added to your website:
Flair detects if it doesn’t have a corresponding GBP product card.
You’ll receive a notification.
From there:
You can create the new product card in GBP, or
Flair can create the missing ones for you with clear instructions.
3. What Flair Updates Automatically
Flair only updates the price field in GBP.
You control all other fields:
Name
Description
Image
Landing page URL
Category
✅ You can edit these fields at any time without disrupting Flair’s sync.
❌ Do not delete product cards or change their pricing manually — this will break the sync.
4. Floorplan Grouping / Consolidation
If your property has many floorplans (7+), you may want to consolidate product cards (e.g., one card for 1-bedrooms, one for 2-bedrooms).
Pros of consolidation: Cleaner layout in GBP, fewer updates, easier for prospects to digest.
Cons of consolidation: Less detail, prospects may not see every individual floorplan.
The goal of floorplans in GBP is to give prospects more detail, and entice them to visit your website or convert. It also allows them to prequalify themselves easily. If you have too many floorplans, many of which are unavailable, this can defeat the purpose of having floorplans with pricing in GBP.
⚠️ Consolidation is not a toggle in the Flair UI. It requires manual setup during onboarding (either you or Flair must create the grouped cards). Switching between consolidated and individual floorplans later requires manual rework.
5. Common Issues & Troubleshooting
Most common confusions:
Flair does not create new product cards automatically.
Flair does not update descriptions, URLs, or images — only pricing.
Deleting product cards breaks the sync.
Flair updates only the starting price for each floorplan (if a range exists, we pull the lowest number).
If something isn’t updating correctly, check:
Confirm that the GBP product card exists for the floorplan.
Confirm you are referencing the URL Flair pulls from (which can be found when you visit https://app.getflair.io/properties/, select a property, and click on "pricing"
6. Ongoing Responsibilities
Flair’s role:
Ensure product cards are correctly set up during onboarding (if you've asked us to do this for you and given us complete instructions)
Keep pricing accurate by syncing starting prices and removing prices for unavailable floorplans.
Notify you if a floorplan is missing a product card.
Your role (client):
Create product cards (or provide Flair instructions to do so).
Manage descriptions, images, URLs, and categories.
Avoid deleting product cards.
Respond to notifications about missing product cards.
✅ In summary:
Flair keeps your pricing synced and accurate.
You manage how the floorplans look in GBP.
Together, this ensures prospects see clear, up-to-date listings without manual work on your end.
